Join us for an incredible maritime experience as we paddle to the small island of Cana to explore Door County’s most iconic lighthouse. See this majestic 89’ tall tower from the water and land. Once we arrive at the island we will pull our kayaks on shore and explore the rich history that encompasses Cana Island. We can tour the home of the original lighthouse keeper and the oil house where fuel for the light was stored. When the tower is open for visitors we can climb the 97 steps of the spiral staircase to reach the gallery deck and take in the panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the Door Peninsula. Learn about the sunken ships and tales of heroics that have surrounded this local treasure that has stood watch on the shore of Lake Michigan for over 150 years.
